Truck Moving Rentals: 3 Tips Before You Rent
If you are moving and are planning on renting a moving truck, there are a few things you should consider. Here are a few tips to consider before you rent your truck to make your rental the best it can be and ensure your relocation is a success.
1. Compare prices before you rent you truck
Call the rental truck companies in your area and get prices for various size trucks or pickups. See if the rental agencies have any discounts available for renting your truck for a one way trip, or see if you can find a coupon to help you get a better deal. This is really important if you are relocating on a tight budget. Also, see if there is a difference in price if you lease rather then rent.
2. Find out ahead of time what they charge for mileage
The rates charged for mileage can vary and can play a large factor in the price of your truck. Say that your relocation is only taking place within the state of California. Mileage may not be so bad. But if you are relocating from Florida to Canada, you've got a lot of miles to go and it could really cost you.
3. Make sure you rent a large enough truck
Most truck rental companies can help you determine what size truck you will need by evaluating how many rooms you have to move. If you do not initially choose a large enough truck, there may not be any other trucks available when it comes time for you to move.
